About Your Tour

Experience a day that combines WWII history at Pearl Harbor with the famous surfing beaches of Oahu's legendary North Shore. This adventure begins with the USS Arizona Memorial experience as you learn how 1,177 seamen tragically perished when their battleship was hit and sunk when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. You'll view a 23-minute documentary featuring historic footage of the attack followed by a short Navy boat ride out to the Memorial. The iconic white Memorial suspended over the sunken Arizona is a place of solemn remembrance and contemplation. Witness the names of the 1, 177 heroes etched in marble in the Shrine Room and note the oil droplets -- "Black Tears of the Arizona" -- floating on the harbor surface as they continue to leak from the sunken battleship below after nearly 80 years.

Visit the Road to War and Attack Galleries at the museum at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center where dramatic photography and battle artifacts bring the attack to life in great detail. Visit the grounds and stop at the interpretive wayside exhibits that invite you to imagine the December 7, 1941 attack.

Following Pearl Harbor, we stop at Dole Pineapple Plantation to view the pineapple fields, enjoy a delicious frozen DoleWhip, and do some shopping in the plantation store. Then, it's on to the legendary North Shore, famous for big wave surfing at Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach, where the world's best surfers compete for championship titles every November through December and all winter long. This famous coastline is also home to Haleiwa, a charming surfer town filled with shops, cafes, and galleries, and scenic Laie Point. Heading back toward the South Shore, we'll take in the Windward Coast vistas from the Koolau Mountains.
